Cookies and Browser Storage
Choose optional analytics and advertising using Privacy settings. Updated September 19, 2026.
Essential browser storage
uw_player_token identifies your browser’s player; uw_player_name remembers your chosen name; uw_recent_room remembers a room link; host_secret values support host controls. cookie_consent stores your choices. These are local-storage values, not all cookies.
Optional analytics
Google Analytics loads only after analytics permission. Browser return-visit measurement uses uw_first_played_at and uw_last_player_session_date only with that permission. Server gameplay event records are separate from optional browser tracking; see the Privacy Policy.
Optional advertising
Advertising is off until you choose to allow it. It is available only on selected guides in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand; other and unknown locations are excluded. Permission does not enable ads on game rooms, the homepage or pack pages. Google services may use cookies and request data when enabled.
Change or withdraw a choice
Select Privacy settings, change the checkboxes and Save preferences, or select Reject optional. The page reloads so previously loaded scripts stop running. You can clear remaining service cookies through browser settings. Choices apply in this browser; another device has its own storage.
Unavailable or invalid storage
If a saved choice cannot be read, optional browser tracking stays off. If your country cannot be determined, advertising stays off. If your browser cannot save preferences, it displays an error. You can use browser privacy controls to remove existing data; clearing player storage can prevent reconnecting to a room.
Advertising cookies and personalization
If you allow advertising and visit an eligible guide, third-party vendors, including Google, may place advertising cookies in your browser. These cookies can help Google and its partners choose ads using your previous visits to Undercover Word and other websites. Ads may be personalized using that browsing activity when personalization is enabled.
You can turn off personalized advertising through Google Ads Settings. Read how Google uses advertising cookies and how Google uses information from partner sites. Other advertising vendors may also use cookies when their ads are served; the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out tool offers choices for participating companies.
Those services manage personalization separately from this site's Privacy settings. Rejecting advertising here prevents new advertising loads on this site after the page reloads. Turning off personalization at Google does not turn off all ads or delete existing cookies. Use your browser's controls to remove cookies already stored by a service.
